Cho Yong Pil Kicks 'Gentleman' Down A Notch, Says He's 'So Proud Of Psy'

Psy's newest single "Gentleman" is rising to the top of charts around the world, but back in his motherland, another familiar face is in the top spot.

Cho Yong Pil is a 63-year-old K-Pop legend, and the lead single from his 19th album Hello has ousted Psy from the top spot in six Korean music charts since its release last Thursday.

The title track, "Bounce," has a youthful sound despite the veteran singer's age and has literally bounced right over Psy's record-breaking "Gentleman."

When asked at a press conference for his 19th album to weigh in on Psy and the worldwide fame brought on by the songs "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman," Cho Yong Pil said, "I am so proud of Psy."

Cho Yong Pil is the talk of the town, not just among fans, but his fellow musicians as well, who are so proud of him. Hello, his first album release in about a decade, is receiving praise from a host of other celebrities.

Taeyang and G-Dragon of Big Bang have expressed rave reviews and Taeyang tweeted a picture of himself with the legendary singer after meeting him in person the other day. Shinhwa, K-Pop legends in their own right, expressed admiration via Facebook, and dozens of others have offered their congratulations as well.
