The review committee at MBC, one of the three major Korean networks, approved the music video of "Gentleman" appropriate for viewers above age 13 with parental discretion.

On April 24, an associate from MBC announced that "Psy's music video of 'Gentleman' has been rated PG-13."

"The review and the rating given was not on the full version of the music video. An abridged, edited version of the music video was submitted for showing on major TV networks, which are much more stringent and conservative in terms of violence and sexual content. There were a few scenes that were deemed mildly inappropriate for all ages which led to the PG-13 rating."

Earlier on April 18, KBS rejected the music video for its display of misdemeanor such as damaging public properties (i.e. no-parking-labeled plastic cone) while SBS approved it with a PG-13 rating.
