JYP Entertainment's Lawsuit Over 2PM's 'My House' Music VIdeo Comes To An End

JYP Entertainment civil suit against Han Sa Min (and his attached agency Dextor Lab) over the director's sudden withdrawal from the production of 2PM's "My House" music video has ended in reconciliation.

On January 3, the two parties reached a settlement proposed back in November. According to Star News the Seoul Central District Court urged the two sides to come to an amicable agreement rather than pursuing litigation.

In August 2015 JYP Entertainment filed their suit against Han after he withdrew from shooting 2PM's music video at the last minute. In their suit, JYP Entertainment demanded 50 million KRW (roughly $42,267 USD) in reimbursement from Han and Dextor Lab. JYP's side explained that because of Han's breach of contract, 2PM's production schedule was interrupted, their marketing plan needed to be altered, and their promotional period was consequently shortened as a result.

However, Han's side asserted that the consultations between Han and JYP Entertainment which outlined production costs, sett work, and costuming did not constitute a formal agreement between the two parties.

Although the two parties reached the agreement peacefully, many Korean netizens seem unhappy with the outcome. "This is ridiculous, JYP should've pushed strong so that this doesn't happen again," one user commented on the incident according to a translation by the blog Netizenbuzz.

"It makes me so mad that they're just letting people walk all over them," another agreed.

Many others shared the same sentiment, reprimanding JYP Entertainment for being too nice.

What do you think of the outcome?
