Psy Opens Up About 'Gentleman' Video In MTV Interview: 'I Look So Stupid' He Groans [VIDEO]

Psy was candid in a music video commentary he provided for MTV on Friday for his new hit song "Gentleman."

"This is the first time I've gotten to say my reaction to my video, and, wow, he's an a-hole," Psy said about his character in the "Gentleman" video. "And he thinks he's sexy...it's so stupid."

As the "Gentleman" clip played, Psy offered anecdotes, background and his general feelings about once again shooting a video in Seoul's Gangnam District (the location was also used in Psy's record-breaking "Gangnam Style").

"And now, we're dancing at the library, [so it's] stupid in a row," he said with a laugh. "I love that!"

Adding with a laugh, "I look so stupid!"

K-pop's biggest international star also took a minute to address a controversy that has erupted on Twitter about the song's lyrical hook.

"I get so many questions on my Twitter [asking] 'is that "mother father gentleman" or "mother something else," Psy chuckled. "It depends on the listener. The way they are thinking."

K-pop's number one "Gentleman" also revealed that one of the video's most striking shots-- Psy dancing across a bridge during sunset only happened because of the star's relentless drive.

"After finishing all the shooting [for the day], I was on my way home but I saw it: the sun's rising," Psy recalled. "I called the director and said 'hey, let's do one more dance shot.' We stopped the car and honestly did illegal shooting time. I was literally dancing in the middle lane at like 6:30 in the morning.

He claims several South Korean motorists passing by looked like they believed the fame had gone to Psy's head.

"Every car would make a sudden stop and watch me and say 'wow, he's crazy after getting the fame. He's dancing a six in the morning,'" Psy said.

He also explained his decision to use the "Arrogant Dance" made popular by K-Pop group Brown Eyed Girls, and first suggested by Psy's friend and Big Bang rapper G-Dragon.

"The dance is called 'Arrogant Dance,' and it's a dance plus an attitude. It's new moves to the world, but in Korea, a girl group did it before, and it was very famous," said Psy. "So I thought 'Oh, we have a lot of catchy moves in K-Pop, so I can remake it and bring it to the world.' The group's name was Brown Eyed Girls, and one of the girls is in this video."
