Apink Eunji's Depression: 'Hopefully Sky' Singer Reveals How She Recovered From ‘Depressive State’

Apink's Eunji might look like a person full of cheerful high spirits. But unknown to many, she was hiding in pain. The Korean singer and actress recently confessed about her struggles with depression and how she coped with it.

During her recent interview with CeCi, Eunji opened up how she felt something is missing despite the success of her solo album. According to Koreaboo, she also shared how she helped herself recover from such depressive state.

Eunji admitted that she thought she was a very strong and positive person last year. However, she came to the point when she did not want to go out and meet anyone new.

She felt the emptiness, despite the fact that her first solo "Hopefully Sky" won number one in charts. She realized she has this other side when she stays alone.

The 23-year-old Apink vocalist said she was not able to control her own feelings. There was even an instance when she ran away when she was supposed to meet someone.

As SBS noted, she tried to write lyrics about her feelings and ideas. But as Apink Eunji said in the interview, depressing and writing about it only kills her.

What helped her recover is getting her own studio, where she learns to compose and play the piano. She also released emotions by watching dramas.

AllKPop previously reported that the members of Apink had experienced some rough years prior to their debut in 2011. It was Eunji who said they were all suffering from depression because of the stress that came with debuting.

Eunji said they did not talk much to one another and had doubts about their success. They guested on "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" in 2014 where the MC revealed the members were really quiet and shy, a far cry from their bubbly image on TV.
