Jia has been promoting in China under a new agency after her contract with JYP Entertainment expired. She also left Miss A and decided to go solo in China after finishing her contract in May 2016. Promoting her new album, one of the songs talk about love and Jia was asked about her dating experience. She revealed that she once dated a celebrity while she was still promoting for Miss A.

Jia didn't give more details about her ex-boyfriend and she stated that she broke up with him after dating for about two years. When she was asked about the reason behind the breakup, she just answered that people need to date. She also revealed that Fei helped her in writing the lyric of the song, AllKpop reported.

After focusing her career in China, Jia has released some songs like "Drip" and "Who's That Girl" in Chinese. She has been known as the dancer in her previous group and she showcased her ability really well in the MVs.
