Some K-pop bands receive unequal treatment from their firms, as an agency can make choices that can potentially harm certain groups. Several other K-pop groups also eventually wind up disbanding because of certain unwise company decisions that break the fans' hearts.

2NE1
YG Entertainment showed certain unequal treatment against 2NE1 despite helping the firm significantly. After Park Bom ended up going into a long break in 2014 because of her drug scandal, the group also went on a long hiatus drastically. Minzy eventually left both the band and firm after such a long absence. Though YG Entertainment confirmed that 2NE1 would proceed as a trio, they disbanded that same year eventually.
X1
X1 was produced via Produce X 101, and a five-year contract agreement was initially offered. Once it was revealed that the vote totaled from the broadcast were manipulated, the band had to cease all their activities.
Despite some initial rumors that X1 was going to resume promotions, the firms of the corresponding X1 participants held a small conference.
Despite the participants of X1 planning to join the conference themselves and conveying their desires to continue as a band, this was not allowed by the companies. After plenty of discourse with the members' agencies, X1 then disbanded.
PRISTIN
PRISTIN officially launched in 2017 and had some remarkable success as their music received some popularity. However, following their debut, PRISTIN ended up effectively going into some kind of long break.
Pledis Entertainment unpredictably revealed after a couple of years that PRISTIN had dissolved. PRISTIN ended up launching just two mini-albums, mostly came throughout their debut year.
4Minute
4Minute has been one of Cube Entertainment's legendary groups, as they managed to help build and promote the agency to what it is presently. In 2016, the famous group disbanded as Cube Entertainment said the participants shared differing opinions.
However, an entertainment expert disclosed that 4Minute could have disbanded because 4Minute was unprofitable, and Cube Entertainment sees it as an "unnecessary" band.
Wonder Girls
Wonder Girls has undergone significant changes in their career paths, be the members or conceptual frameworks. Wonder Girls officially made its debut in 2007 as a 5-member band, consisting of Sohee, HyunA, Yeeun, Sunye, and Sunmi.
After their premiere, HyunA left the band due to the safety concerns of her parents. Yubin was eventually added to replace HyunA.
In 2010 Hyerim was introduced to the party after it was revealed Sunmi would take a temporary break. Soon afterward, Sunye and Sohee left the band to keep pursuing other different activities, but as four members, Wonder Girls nevertheless managed to succeed.
In 2017, the band made a surprising official statement as they declared their disbandment, as Sunmi and Yeeun decided to leave the agency.
