Netizens Think EXO Baekhyun and Kang Daniel's MVs Have So Many Similarities
Baekhyun's "Candy" music video trended upon its successful release on May 25 as fans enjoyed the sound performance of the K-pop superstar, along with his sophomore solo album, "Delight." However, some noted that the music video resembles Kang Daniel's music video for "2U."
Baekhyun's "Delight" album that features its title song, "Candy," immediately rose to the top of the charts and even broke records, and created social media frenzy because of its sugary sweet melody and its captivating cinematography.
While EXO-Ls are indeed delighted about the idol's return, several netizens began pointing out the MV's similarities to the said music video to another K-pop artist's past MV.
First, online users noted that in one of Baekhyun's scenes in "Candy," he was peeping between the curtain drapes that are the same with Kang Daniel's scene in one of his MVs.
Second, both videos show old-fashioned television sets.
Third, both artists have clips while sitting on the steps of the staircases.
Fourth, the living rooms featured look the same, just like how it depicts a particular era.
Fifth is the choreography, and some said it's somewhat the same as with Kang Daniel's.
Lastly, the sensational back-up dancer was seen on both the K-pop idols' videos. It's something unquestionable, though, as the said girl is a professional dancer in South Korea.

As soon as these so-called "similarities" were laid out, fans began thinking that this is something not worthy of their time.
"I still wonder why they're comparing Kang Daniel and Baekhyun. This is like making an elementary school student fight with a high school student. Baekhyun is a great senior with 8 years of experience as an idol, while Daniel just started his career about 3 years ago," tweets one netizen on Twitter.
"Baekhyun vs. Kang Daniel is really pointless because it started last year when KD broke his record and some of his fans mocked Kang Daniel (for whatever reason)...funny thing is, many fans bought KD's album to prove a point that CJ made a mistake of mistreating him," another netizen tweeted.
"Kang Daniel and Baekhyun are great and talented artists. There is nothing to compare or knock each other down because they have their own ways, they have their own music color, and they succeed in their own ways," said one fan.
On May 25, the EXO member made his major solo comeback with his album, "Delight." After the release of the said music video, it instantly got millions of views, making it one of the most successful MVs on YouTube and the best-selling album on Hanteo.
Meanwhile, Kang Daniel dropped his solo album "CYAN" on March 24, along with its title song "2U." The album consists of five tracks, including "Interview," "Jealous," "TOUCHIN'," and "Adulthood" (pre-released last winter).
As soon as he took off the veil of "CYAN," he achieved the title as the highest release from a male artist on Hanteo at that time, and also topped global and domestic charts. Further, Kang Daniel attained triple crowns on Gaon and also immediately clinched his music show win for "2U."
