Netizens have come to defend SEVENTEEN's Jun and WayV's Kun and Lucas from criticism. On August 9, Sunday, netizens talked about how K-Pop idols were spotted dining at a hot pot restaurant that was later discovered to have been visited by a coronavirus patient.

On online forums, several photos of the idols at the restaurant. They were seen using the self-service line to pick food, and all of them were seen wearing masks.

Some people had criticized the idols for being careless. However, one of the posts states that the restaurant is known for disinfecting their tables after someone or a group dines there. Additionally, tables were also placed far apart from each other and are separated by dividers, which means they were also practicing social distancing while eating.

One of the fans had reached out to the restaurant from more information, and it was revealed that the customer who ended up testing positive for coronavirus had dined and left before the idols' dined there. The fan wrote, "It is less dangerous, that way they were not dining at the same time. But I am still so worried. I did not think the restaurant would respond to me, but they did, and now I am more shocked. The restaurant is currently being disinfected, but it will return to business soon."

Some people still felt the need to criticize the male idols, however. They slammed the trio for eating at a restaurant that specialized in shared side dishes, and with hotpot, it's not uncommon to use the chopsticks you use to feed to fish out r food in the pot itself. To this criticism, however, netizens had defended the boys and said they were all wearing masks.

Jun debuted with SEVENTEEN in 2015 as the group's lead dancer and sub vocalist and is a member of the group's performance unit. Before debuting in Korea, Jun was active as a child actor in China. Jun said he was interested in K-Pop because many Chinese students had started getting interested in it and had heard his peers talking about it often. Xiaojun debuted with WayV in 2019 as the group's main vocalist and sub-rapper. Growing up, Xiaojun was raised in a household that loved music. As both his father and his brother are part of the industry. Due to the environment he was in; it naturally led him to be musically inclined. Before debuting with WayV, he was first introduced to the Chinese public as a contestant in a Chinese survival show called "X-Fire." Though WayV debuted in China and has no Korean members, they are actively promoting in Korea, appearing on variety shows and music shows.

Kun first made his debut with NCT U in 2018 but had sung the Chinese version of NCT U's "Without You" in 2016, which had led fans to know of him since then. Following his debut with NCT U, Kun debuted with WayV in 2019 as the leader, main vocalist, and sub rapper. Before debuting with NCT and WayV, he lived in Taiwan for two years and was part of a Taiwanese group called Change. Additionally, he was part of a group called Tiger Boys 2, a spin-off of the popular Chinese boy group Tiger Boys. He ended up leaving the group to focus on his studies.
