There is no doubt about the fact that K-Pop idols are extremely hard working in the field they are in. However, that has not stopped them from cultivating other talents as well. Some idols are academic geniuses, while others are super athletes. Among this list are idols that have learned and mastered languages.

Knowing different languages certainly helps in this industry, especially considering the global appeal of K-Pop at this very point in time. It helps them in promotional activities overseas as well as gives them confidence during interviews in other countries. As such, it is an incredible asset to know many languages. Here are some idols that are polyglots and can speak multiple languages.

1. SHINee Key

SHINee's Key is very well known to be highly intelligent. Therefore, it is no surprise that he is also fluent in 3 different languages. This includes Korean, of course, but also English and Japanese. Despite not studying abroad, he has picked up the languages with ease. Key has also made music in both Korean and Japanese. Japanese is an extremely difficult language, so we might as well consider Key a language genius.

2. CL

Hold on to your phones for this one will surely blow your mind. K-Pop superstar and icon CL can speak four different languages fluently. This includes Korean, English, Japanese, and French! CL lives in Japan for seven years and France for two years, which led her to have a good sense of both the languages. Studying at an International School led her to learn English. As a result, she has been able to successfully target the global music market, even debuting in America.

3. BTS RM

The leader of BTS is a known genius with an IQ of over 148. He was also among the top 0.1% for the Korean college entrance examinations. What adds to this is the fact that he is also fluent in 3 languages! RM is fluent in Korean, English, and Japanese. He taught himself English through watching the super hit television series Friends!

4. Former Wonder Girls Hyerim

Hyerim from Wonder Girls speaks Korean, English, and Mandarin Chinese. She got the opportunity to soak up and learn different languages while living in Hong Kong for 14 years.

5. GOT7 Jackson

K-Pop and C-Pop legend Jackson Wang speak a whopping number of 5 different languages. He is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Shanghainese, and Korean. He is also gradually picking up Thai! Is there anything this man can't do?

6. 2PM TAECYEON

Every K-Pop fan's dream man Taecyeon can fluently speak four languages. These are Korean, English, Japanese as well as Spanish! Since he studied abroad in America, he was able to pick up Spanish and English there.

7. Henry

Henry is not only a super talented musician but also a language genius in every sense of the word. He is fluent in 5 languages! This includes Korean, English, Mandarin Chinese, French, and Thai. He learned all these languages from living in different areas like Canada, Thailand, and from his father, who's from Hong Kong, and Taiwanese mother.
