The Official Statement of Woollim Entertainment Regarding Golden Child TAG's Ankle Injury

On October 20, the agency issued an official statement concerning the artist's injury. It was disclosed that TAG hurt his ankle when he was heading to a video-call fan signing event, which happened on October 18. Several individuals were said to be blocking his way and taking flash photos of the singer, thus causing him to fall.

The company also stated that TAG immediately received first aid treatment and was taken to the hospital after the event for examination, in which he was diagnosed with ligament damage.

Due to his current condition, the rapper needs a lot of rest and should lessen the use of his injured ankle. However, Golden Child's TAG is determined to perform on stage and so, out of respect for his wish, Woollim Entertainment decided to let him join the group's music show performances starting with SBS MTV's "The Show" on October 20, but TAG will remain seated throughout the event.

Woollim Entertainment further stated that since Goldenness (Golden Child's official fan club name) has not been behaving properly at many of the K-pop boy group's events, the agency will be making new guidelines about the fan club etiquette that will include strict rules in order to ensure Golden Child members' good health and safety at all times.

Woollim also mentioned that anyone within the fan club who shows misconduct in the future will be removed from all Golden Child-related fan club activities without giving prior notice.

In response to the entertainment's statement, Goldenness questions the need for the agency to blame them when it looks to have been an accident. Based on a video on Twitter that was recorded by one of the fans, the path to the venue was evidently clear, and flash photography can only be seen on one side. A few Korean Goldenness commented on the clip, stating:

"People can sprain their ankle just walking. Why are they blaming others?"

"I thought that fans were crowding the van. Why is the company overreacting?"

While some Goldenness are throwing hate towards Woollim Entertainment, the company has not yet responded to their claims. On the contrary, international fans are sending their love and support to TAG, hoping that he fully recovers soon.
