Rookie Girl Group Woo!ah! to Make First Comeback With New Album
Rookie girl group Woo!ah! joins the comeback lineup for November!
On November 3, NV Entertainment announced that Wooh!ah will be returning on November 24 with a new album. The agency also stated that they are currently in the final stage of the group's comeback preparations.
Woo!ah!, which made its debut on May 13 this year through a press showcase, is a female act under NV Entertainment that is run by director Han Ji Seok and CEO Kim Kyun Sang. Han is an overseas entertainment expert and had previously worked in SM Entertainment and Kakao M, while Kim is a creative director who had produced and directed a number of artists that represent Korea.
The rookie girl group is originally consists of six members, namely Nana, Wooyeon, Sora, Lucy, Minseo, and Songyee. On April 24, their debut single album titled 'Exclamation' was released. It is composed of two tracks, specifically 'Payday' and 'woo!ah!' which is the album's title track. The music video of the title track was dropped on May 15 on NV Entertainment's official YouTube account, and as of November 3, the MV is about to reach 500,000 views.
With the debut song, Woo!ah! gave an impressive performance, showing off their excellent dancing and singing skills, plus flaunting their unique charms. The rookie girl group also launched a performance video of their second track 'Payday' on June 6, catching the attention of more people.
On August 14, just three months after Woo!ah! debuted, Songyee parted ways with the group and the agency. NV Entertainment announced the saddening news on the official fan café of the female act. The label stated that after having a lengthy talking with Songyee and her parents, it has been decided that the singer will be leaving Woo!ah!. The exact reason was not mentioned as it is too personal.
NV Entertainment then asked fans to continue to give love and support to the remaining members. Also, the agency said that they will keep on working hard for their artists.
Meanwhile, these past months, the rookie female act has been uploaded video logs on NV Entertainment's official YouTube account. One of those is Woo!ah! member Nana getting a driver's license, along with the behind-the-scenes videos when she visited Deutschmotors.
On top of that, Woo!ah!'s Nana has made her acting debut after she was cast in the web drama titled 'Nopaku Romance' as the female lead. The drama is about a teen romance that depicts the secret yet thrilling love nowadays. Nana played the role of Chae Bona, who is a gorgeous and popular dating counselor. The drama is reported to premiere in December through V LIVE and Naver TV.
Meanwhile, considering that Songyee has departed from Woo!ah!, the upcoming album marks the group's first comeback since debut and their first return without Songyee. More details about the rookie girl group's first comeback are yet to be revealed, so stay tuned!
