EXO's Kai is set to debut as a solo artist officially!

On Thursday, the first music video teaser for Kai's first album and track "Mmmh" was dropped at 12:00 p.m. KST on various social media platforms, such as YouTube, Naver TV, SMTOWN, and EXO's official pages, which earned a massive reaction from his fans and supporters.

In the teaser video, Kai showcased and raised music fans' expectations with his stylish look, along with the trendy and smooth vibe of his much-anticipated song. 

The new song "Mmmh," a "charming straightforward love song," is an R&B pop genre with an impressive yet addictive melody--the lyrics are expected to receive a good response as it confidently unravels attention from K-pop enthusiasts. In addition to this, netizens and fans are also focused on how Kai will flaunt his signature and incredible dancing prowess to his solo debut. 

The album consists of six songs, including its title track "Mmmh," "Nothing on Me," "Amnesia," "Reason," "Ride or Die," and "Hello Stranger" - all of which are R&B tracks and will reveal Kai's musical ability as a solo artist, rather than as an EXO member.

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, SM Entertainment revealed the album details of "KAI," composed of four versions: X, Y, Z, and Flip Book. 

As of press time, Kai has already begun his promotional activities for his solo mini-album, such as appearing as a guest in "I Live Alone" and "Amazing Saturday (DoReMi Market)" with SHINee's Taemin. He is also part of the roster of artists performing at Naver NOW's Party B on Monday, Nov. 30 at 9:00 p.m. KST, alongside junior labelmates and rookies Aespa, MAMAMOO, MONSTA X, and more. 

Kai will also hold a special V Live broadcast, titled "THE OPENING LIVE," on the day of the debut mini-album release, Nov. 30 at 5:00 p.m. KST.

Kai's Solo Debut Album Tracklist + Details 

After eight years since his debut in 2012, Kai is set to release his first-mini album, "KAI (开)," along with six new tracks.

The title song, "Mmmh" is a song that is expected to convey the idol's feelings of attraction to a person with an honest and sultry sound.

Kai will offer various kinds of R&B tracks, including the trap song "Amnesia," which will display an attractive melody. The lyrics tell the feelings of forgetting the past and filling it with the memories of his new love interest.

Meanwhile, "Nothing On Me" is an alternative R&B track wiith heavy bass sound and an exciting chorus. Also, "Reason" is a progressive R&B song wherein the lyrics show the growing attraction with the person he just met and how they explore each other. This track is gaining more anticipation as it was composed by popular American record producer Mike Daley, who infused spices to the song by using an addictive 808 pattern to minimal club music.

Lastly, "Ride or Die" is an alternative R&B produced in collaboration with the renowned Cha Cha Malone. The lyrics says, "Let's get out of the limits and enjoy it as freely as we can."

Then, "Hello Stranger" is a progressive R&B B-side track that is expected to focus on Kai's vocal ability due to its lyrical guitar sound, along with its lyrics that tell the story of strangers meeting for the first time but have a strange connection.
