Soyeon and Jiyeon debuted in 2009 as members of T-ara and rose to one of the best-selling groups of second-gen K-pop girl groups. After a bullying case with former member Hwayoung, the group members one by one eventually left MBK Entertainment and had an indefinite hiatus, as the members didn't particularly announce their disbandment.

Since then, Soyeon has turned into a solo singer, and Jiyeon has been working as an actress. In 2020, members Jiyeon, Qri, Eunjung, and Hyomin reunited for a Chuseok performance.
