Oh My Girl and The Boyz to Perform at the 'World Support Season 2' Concert

Oh My Girl and The Boyz have been revealed as the first two artists who will perform at an upcoming concert organized by Red Angels, a South Korean cheerleading squad.

The Boyz and Oh My Girl Announced as the First Lineup for Red Angels' Concert This May

On May 4, Red Angels announced that K-pop groups The Boyz and Oh My Girl will be part of their upcoming concert, titled "World Support Season 2."

Previously, Red Angels conducted the first season of the "World Support" concert this past February, which took place both offline and online. Oh My Girl was also present at the concert, alongside three more Korean acts such as Super Junior, NCT Dream, and (G)I-DLE.

Apart from Oh My Girl and The Boyz, two more K-pop groups will perform at the upcoming concert, together with a Chinese C-pop group and one Japanese J-pop group. Red Angels is yet to reveal the other artists.

When and Where Will Red Angels' Concert Take Place?

The concert's hosts will be Red Angels and The Salvation Army, which have branches in 200 countries and 132 countries, respectively. It is scheduled to take place in Paju City, South Korea's peace capital, on May 29.

The concert will feature exceptional performances of the idol groups, including The Boyz and Oh My Girl. It will also include a cheering match in which 3,000 cheerleaders from all over the world will participate through the streaming platform, Zoom. There will also be 70 on-site cheerleaders who will be chosen through a lottery.

Through this event, the organizations aim to bring comfort and hope to citizens around the globe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the concert will be conducted to raise money that will be used to support families who are facing difficulties during the pandemic.

Red Angels also plan to issue a COUTION (coupon + donation) to expand public donation activities. They will also be giving support to medical staff, providing children's relief, donating goods to Paju City, and holding welfare square cheer relays.

Oh My Girl and The Boyz's 2021 Activities So Far

Meanwhile, Oh My Girl is gearing up for their return to the music scene this month with a new mini-album titled "Dear OhMyGirl." It features the title track "Dun Dun Dance," along with five more songs. This will be the group's first comeback in more than a year since their seventh extended play, "Nonstop," which was released in April last year.

On May 4, the girl group shared a lyric spoiler for "Dun Dun Dance." Their upcoming mini-album is set to be released on May 10 at 6 p.m. KST.

As for The Boyz, they are currently competing in Mnet's new competition show "Kingdom: Legendary War." The group placed second on the preliminary round of the contest with 573,026 global votes. The results for Round 1 and Round 2 are yet to be unveiled.

Prior to participating in Mnet's "Kingdom," The Boyz released their first Japanese studio album titled "Breaking Dawn" on March 17.
