Roy Kim Makes Good On His Promise To Give Out Coffee To 'Superstar K5' Hopefuls, Dresses As A Barista To Do It [VIDEO]

Earlier this year, chart-topping K-pop performer Roy Kim made the producers of the reality show "Superstar K5" a promise.

If the amount of people auditioning for the South Korean singing competition exceeded 1 million, he would serve the applicants coffee "as a barista," according to CJ E&M enewsWorld

In Tuesday's episode of the Mnet program, filmed at the Twosome Place cafe in the Gwanghwamun section of Seoul, the reigning "Superstar K" champion made good on his promise.

Looking like he could blend in as a barista in any Brooklyn coffee shop, with a Twosome Place apron over his button-down polka-dot shirt (with even the top button buttoned), Roy operated the cappuccino machine with precision.

He also gave the aspiring K-pop performers some advice about being a "Superstar K" contestant.

"I didn′t try to make myself look good, I remained proud and confident," Roy said.

"I found I was a big fish in a little pond when I was eliminated once, but when I look back, I think it was a good opportunity to realize where I stood. You should all be confident too."

And although he appeared modest speaking before the group of "Superstar K5" hopefuls, Kim acknowledged that they could be his competition on the charts soon enough.

"I′m excited about the contestants, but personally, I hope most will be less talented than I am," he quipped.

In addition to telling the contestants to keep their confidence up, the singer and guitarist also performed a solo acoustic version of his chart-topping hit "Bom Bom Bom."

In addition to continuing to have a major presence on several South Korean pop charts, "Bom Bom Bom" spent three weeks in the number one position on Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 last month.

The singer's solo acoustic performance of his number one hit, took the song to new heights.

And Roy Kim fans in South Korea hungering for more solo acoustic performances like that may get the chance to, when the star starts his four-city tour of the country in July.

"After the release of his prize album in June, [Roy Kim] will tour four cities in Korea for a national tour in July," said a rep from the singer's record label the music division of CJ E&M.

"Roy Kim has always wanted to hold this tour, and he will get to meet with fans around the country."

The "Superstar K4" says he can't wait to interact with his fan base on the road.

"My fans gave me 200 percent of the strength I needed to sing onstage like I do now," Roy said.

"I′ll have a lot of important events coming up with the release of my album, but I′m most looking forward to meeting my fans through concerts. I′m as nervous and excited as I was when I won the ["Superstar K"] audition."
