PSY Couldn't Sleep Well for Days and the Reason Is Connected With BTS Suga

On April 29, PSY appeared on MelOn Station's "Today's Music" where he talked about the history of his past albums as well as his latest studio album "PSY 9th." He also gave behind-the-scenes stories about recording his new songs, learning the choreography, and filming the music video.

During the broadcast, PSY also touched on his collaboration with BTS member and "That That" producer Suga.

He said, "After it was confirmed that Suga was going to collaborate with me, I got so excited."

PSY then revealed that because of the BTS member he didn't get good sleep for days. In particular, because of his excitement about his collab with Suga, he couldn't sleep.

He shared, "I got too excited to the point that I couldn't fall asleep. I didn't get a good night's sleep for days following that. I felt like I saved the world in my previous life."

The "Gangnam Style" singer excitedly shared how the collaboration happened as well.

PSY revealed, "Actually, Suga contacted me first. One day, I received a message from an unknown number. And it turned out that it was Suga!"

In an interview which was posted online with PSY's management agency, P NATION,  BTS Suga shared his thoughts on his collaboration with the soloist.

He said, "To be honest, I haven't gotten that close with anyone I've ever collaborated with. It's because I'm usually not the type to meet up with my collaborators in person."

The "That That" producer then shared that PSY kept wanting to see him in person. "While producing, we also communicated a lot," he said.

Then, PSY stated, "At first, we met because he wanted to produce my music. Then, he ended up featuring on the song."

He added that Suga also ended up learning the choreography for the track and starred in the music video. "Yoongi (Suga's real name) got more and more involved," he shared.

BTS Suga confessed, "I seriously didn't expect to be dancing with PSY. Ah, I thought I was only writing the song."

Meanwhile, Suga and PSY's collab track "That That" is due out later today at 6 p.m. KST, along with the latter's new studio album "PSY 9th."

In other news, the music video for PSY's iconic song "Gangnam Style" has achieved a new feat on YouTube one day before the solo artist's comeback with his new album.

"Gangnam Style" is the title track of the idol's sixth full-length album "PSY 6 (Six Rules) Part 1," which came out in July 2012.

On April 28 at approximately 9:30 a.m. KST, the number of views of PSY's "Gangnam Style" MV crossed 4.4 billion YouTube views. It took the song nine years and nine months to achieve the feat.

Because of this, "Gangnam Style" has extended its record as the most-viewed music video by a Korean artist in YouTube's history.
