She also has the nickname "Dayeob" due to her uncanny resemblance to comedian Shin Dongyeob. When she first debuted, Starship Entertainment banned her from wearing pigtails because it made her look more like Shin Dongyeob. However, she is now able to wear pigtails.
Another nickname she has is "Dayomi," which means "Cutie Dayoung."
3. She was a contestant on 'Kpop Star'

Before she debuted with WJSN, Dayoung auditioned for "Kpop Star" in 2012. At the time, she was only 13 years old. She debuted with WJSN in 2015, three years later.

When Dayoung was first announced as a member of WJSN, many were shocked to see the Dayoung from "Kpop Star." Some were even unsure if they were the same people due to the sudden growth and maturity. However, it was soon confirmed that they were one and the same!
During her audition, she sang Cho Young Pil's "Let It Be." After being eliminated, she was scouted by Starship Entertainment.
4. She is a picky eater

Dayoung is quite a picky eater despite her love of cooking. There are several foods that she does not like to eat.

Dayoung does not like candy, jelly, chocolate, carbonated drinks, grilled intestines, seafood, and chicken feet.

It is hard to imagine as anything but an idol. It's obvious she had that dream since her youth, as she auditioned for "Kpop Star" when she was just 13 years old. However, she actually dreamed of another job briefly in her life.

In 2018, a fan asked what job Dayoung would have picked if she was not a singer, and she revealed that she wanted to become a diplomat! What a surprising choice!
