On June 23, SM Entertainment introduced KWANGYA Club, the first fan community by the agency under the brand. Through this application, it will showcase the future metaverse world pursued by SM.

This will be the first step for the label to pursue its dreams of creating a brand called "KWANGYA," which symbolizes the metaverse origin story of SMCU. The acronym stands for SM Culture Universe, the core value and vision of SM's metaverse world.

KWANGYA Club will be a membership-based fan club service. This will particularly provide a space where various K-pop artists and celebrity fans can interact, regardless of location.

In regards to its launch date, the KWANGYA Club app will officially open in September. Before this, a pilot operation (BETA) for two months will be held starting in July.

To join the club, the fan can choose from two membership subscriptions: (1) BASIC and (2) ACE.

To join as a BASIC member, you just need to fill up your basic public information FREE of charge. Users can then use the app anytime and its features, excluding ACE perks.

To be an ACE member, fans will have to pay annually. But compared to the first type, ACE holders will receive additional perks. It is expected that the special benefits will include items from the KWANGYA brand after signing up.

In context, SM plans to introduce a variety of metaverse contents such as a digital passport and membership service, "MUSIC NATION SMTOWN META-PASSPORT." Fans can also experience culture experience space exhibitions through "KWANGYA@Seoul" and its similar exhibition in LA.

According to SM, artists from Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, and aespa will join during the official recruitment of fan club members in September.

Meanwhile, on June 23, the recruitment for NCT Dream and aespa's ACE members started as part of the app's soft launch.

On the same day, SM Entertainment also announced that its concert "SMTOWN LIVE," which will be held in Tokyo, Japan in August, will be held three times in total. They will add one more performance after the explosive response of local fans.

On June 23, the agency confirmed that "SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU Express @Tokyo" will be held from August 27 to 29 at the Tokyo dome, making it a three-day concert. This is after the tickets sold out for Aug. 27 to 28, the original schedule of the concerts.

This concert is an offline "SMTOWN LIVE" concert held for the first time in three years. Therefore, it is expected that SM artists such as Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, SHINee Onew, Key, Minho, EXO Suho, Chen, Kai, Xiumin, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa, Raiden, and Ginjo will appear and fill up various collaboration stages.
