EXO Xiumin Selects Suho As Best Candidate for Next SM Director– Here's Why

On September 28, EXO Xiumin, who released his solo debut album "Brand New," appeared as a guest in MBC FM4U's "Kim Shin Young's Noon Song of Hope."

During the broadcast, the "Serenity" singer talked about various topics, including facts about himself, EXO and SM Entertainment.

In particular, DJ Kim asked about the question he always talked about with SM Entertainment artists, which is none other than the topic of "KWANGYA."

Xiumin wittily responded:

"If I will see it in a positive light, I think KWANGYA is an unknown world where we can build new things.”

Unlike his seniors Kangta, TVXQ Changmin and Hyoyeon who were confused and didn't know much about the concept, Kim Shin Young praised Xiumin and called him the "next SM director."

While on the topic, Xiumin was asked who would have been the next director among EXO, and without much hesitation, he confidently revealed that it would be Suho, the group's leader. Xiumin hinted at the possibility, saying:

"Suho has already been trying to become a director for a long time (mentioning that he would become an SM Director)."

DJ Kim agreed and cited the idol's personality of being ambitious yet caring, and his ability to remember people's faces.

Although it's just a possibility, Xiumin revealed what he would like to ask as an artist first if Suho moved up, and replied:

"Please change the schedule car to something better. He would probably do it for me. Make it a sedan."

However, it seems like Suho being the next SM Director will not happen any time in the future, due to the idol himself.

In a radio broadcast aired in June, Suho told Super Junior Donghae & Eunhyuk that he claimed to be SM's next director just for fun and that he don't have any inch of desire to do it, despite the huge chance.

Although the "Grey Suit" singer is lauded for his leadership skills, communication abilities and intelligence as well, Suho strongly conveyed his hope to remain as an artist and create "Suho music."

Meanwhile, as of this year, BoA and Kangta worked as non-register executive directors of SM Entertainment. Alongside Suho, Super Junior Siwon & Kyuhyun, TVXQ Yunho & Changmin as well as SHINee Minho were mentioned when the topic of the next SM Director appears.

Xiumin Expresses Affection to EXO's Maknae Sehun

As the broadcast went on, Xiumin also talked about his other EXO co-member, especially Sehun. Specifically, when asked which member Xiumin thinks takes care of himself the best, he chose Sehun and explained:

"He's the youngest, but he doesn't seem like the youngest. He's the opposite of me. The 'Maknae on top.' Sehun is the best in EXO. He is loyal and cool."

Xiumin continued:

"He made a surprise visit when I filmed the music video for 'Brand New.' It takes more than 3 hours because it was time to change the set, but when Sehun came, he thought we were dancing or filming the music video, but it was under construction for 3 hours.

He didn't get to see anything in the end. I was sorry because it was so early in the morning. So I told him, 'Just go home. Thank you for coming."

On the contrary, Xiumin also picked Sehun as the member he wanted to take care of and clear out the reason, saying:

"He takes care of me a lot. If I think about it the other way around, I want to take care of Sehun more."
