Back in 2012, when EXO was still a rookie group, the group's leader, Suho, was linked to an Apink member after two fans of the said girl group saw them looking close backstage of MBC's Gayo Daejeon. This Apink member is none other than Park Chorong, who is also the leader of her own group.

In a post of one fan, they said that they went in the front row to get a better look at Apink, who was about to perform. They added that when Apink was called, the members made their way to the stage, but they noticed a boy group member in the backstage area near the stairs where Apink came from.

The fan remarked that they weren't able to recognize him but they think it was a member from EXO-K. They then admitted that they weren't sure since they don't know much about the group.

The fan further said that after Apink's performance, the members made a short speech. And while doing so, the boy group member was still near the stairs and seemed to be waiting. Then, when Apink got off the stage, the male K-pop idol bowed to all of them.
Chorong was the last one to descend the stairs, and the fan claimed that the male artist presumed to be EXO Suho talked to her.

In a different post, another Apink fan asserted that EXO Suho and Apink Chorong talked and laughed together as if they were really close backstage of MBC's 2012 Gayo Daejeon. They continued that the male idol talked to Chorong after waiting for Apink (to come down the stairs) and held her arm afterward.
Since then, many fans have been shipping Suho and Chorong. They even made the couple name "SuRong" (Suho + Chorong).
EXO Suho's dating rumor with Apink Chorong continued until 2014. The two had an interaction on the Dec. 7 episode of SBS's "Inkigayo." At that time, the EXO member was one of the hosts of the show and Apink was promoting their comeback song "LUV."
