LE SSERAFIM Becomes Fastest 4th Gen K-pop Group to Become Million-Seller

On Oct. 17, LE SSERAFIM made their first-ever comeback with their second mini-album "ANTIFRAGILE," which features the titular title track and four other new songs. A catchy song, ANTIFRAGILE" contains empowering lyrics about growing stronger as a result of dealing with hard times.

According to the latest Circle Album chart for the week of Oct. 16 to 22, LE SSERAFIM's "ANTIFRAGILE" debuted at No. 2 with 580,995 copies sold. With the number of sales recorded on Weverse, the mini-album also debuted at No. 6 with 49822 copies.

In total, "ANTIFRAGILE" sold a total of 630,817 copies. It is one of the only two albums to reach 600,000 sales in the previous week, along with (G)I-DLE's "I love."

Those numbers, when added on to the 420,000 sales of their debut album, "FEARLESS," bring the rookie girl group to the one-million mark. LE SSERAFIM made their debut on May 2, meaning it took them almost six months or 178 days to become a million-seller.

LE SSERAFIM is now the fastest fourth-generation K-pop group in history to become a million-seller in South Korea. The previous record holders are IVE and TREASURE, who both became a million-seller after 188 days of their debut.

This only shows that LE SSERAFIM is a rookie girl group with a potential to become the next big thing.

LE SSERAFIM's "ANTIFRAGILE" Records 6th Highest 1st Week Sales of Any Girl Group Album

In related news, LE SSERAFIM's "ANTIFRAGILE" is now the K-pop girl group album with the sixth-highest first-week sales on the Hanteo Chart in history.

From Oct. 17 to 23, the mini-album sold 567,673 copies, almost doubling the rookie girl group's previous personal record of 307,450 sales achieved by "FEARLESS." Notably, "ANTIFRAGILE" surpassed this record in just one day, as it sold 408,833 copies on Oct. 17 alone.

With over 567,000 copies sold, LE SSERAFIM's "ANTIFRAGILE" broke the record for the sixth-highest first-week sales by any K-pop girl group in history. This record initially belonged to TWICE's "BETWEEN 1&2," which sold 532,622 copies

The only five K-pop girl group albums that sold much higher are BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK," aespa's "Girls," IVE's "After LIKE," BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM," (G)I-DLE's "I love."

Meanwhile, "ANTIFRAGILE" debuted at No. 13 on Billboard's World Albums chart for the week ending on Oct. 29.

Amid the comeback promotions of the rookie girl group, they were nominated at the upcoming 2022 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), together with their debut song "FEARLESS."

In particular, LE SSERAFIM is running for Best New Female Artist, Artist of the Year, and Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10. Moreover, "FEARLESS" was nominated for Best Dance Performance Female Group and Song of the Year.

Voting will open on the official website of the 2022 Mnet Asian Music Awards on Nov. 4 at 11:59 p.m. KST. Pre-voting is currently taking place for Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10 and will end on Nov. 4 at 11:59 p.m. KST.
