Lee Ki Kwang Of BEAST Wants To Quit Acting Following His First Big Dramatic Role: 'I Don't Know Why I Look So Awkward' He Moans

Lee Ki Kwang (also spelled Gikwang) of the K-pop boy band BEAST claims he wants to quit acting after filming scenes for the upcoming South Korean television drama "My Friend Is Still Alive."

Acting his first dramatic lead role, Lee recalls the experience as a harrowing one.

"It made me think that I should never act again," the star said at a Monday on the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) program "Drama Special."

"The other people acted so well, but I don't know why I look so awkward. My hands and feet were curling and it was hard to watch myself."

In "My Friend Is Still Alive" airing Wednesday nights on KBS, Lee plays the character of Kyung Sook, a terminally ill man who asks his best friend Chi Hyun to find him a girl to kiss as his last dying wish, according to the website Soompi.

The BEAST singer and rapper, thanked "Drama Special" director Lee Eung Bok for coming to his rescue.

"Thankfully, the director did a really good job," Lee Ki Kwang  said.

"I think all the scenes came out really well."

Lee Eung Bok feels that Lee Ki Kwang did fine.

"Since Lee Ki Kwang's schedule was busy, he shot for four days straight," the director explained.

"We had to shoot all of his scenes at once and he did very well in all of the emotional and comic scenes. He did an excellent job."

Lee Ki Kwang fan Nandita Larasati pleaded with the star to reconsider his early retirement from acting.

"No, no, no! please don't do that!" she wrote yesterday on the Soompi website.

"I think you're so awesome when you act. I'm always waiting for your role in the next drama or movie.

The star always has his band to fall back on.

BEAST's latest single "Will You Be Alright" debuted at number one on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 this week, knocking Lee Hyori's "Bad Girls" down to number two.

But fan dc222a is exited to see Lee Ki Kwang's in his newest non-musical role.

"Can't wait to see Kiki acting again," dc222a wrote.

"And KBS's Drama Specials are always very good and unique from the normal Korean drama."
