THIS BABYMONSTER's 'Center' Dubbed as 'Next BLACKPINK Jennie'– Here's Why

Prior to BABYMONSTER's official debut, THIS member who's set to become the group's center is already earning the nickname "Next BLACKPINK Jennie." Here are the reasons.

Next Jennie? BABYMONSTER Ahyeon Draws Comparison With BLACKPINK Member

On February 27, YG Entertainment uploaded a new video titled, "BABYMONSTER - Introducing Ahyeon." Ahead of the group's debut, the agency has been releasing a series of videos to give a glimpse of the members' respective charms. In fact, earlier Ahyeon, the videos for Ruka, Pharita, Rora, Asa and Chiquita were already revealed.

Following her introduction video, Ahyeon became a hot topic on the same day in SNS and web communities. In particular, the soon-to-debut idol is not only earning praise for her beauty and skills but a lot were also reminded of BLACKPINK Jennie after seeing her.

In particular, just like the global superstar, idol trainee Ahyeon boasts all-rounder attributes that will surely play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall presence of the team.

Choreographer LEEJUNG hinted at Ahyeon's role as BAEMON's center, saying:

"She's the one that best understands what I mean by control. That's why it's the best balance when she stands in the center. I think I can say she's the best for the center position."

Jennie, who serves as the center of the quartet also boasts explosive rap skills and an impressive dance line. But on top of that, she's also a competent and stable vocalist.
After seven years, there's someone who's followed in her footsteps, and it is none other than Ahyeon!

The trainee possesses a clean and pure tone when singing, but she got the hip-hop and YG swag when rapping, giving a sneak peek at her limitless spectrum.

In addition to idol skills, Ahyeon's visuals, intelligence and personality were also lauded. Upon seeing her pre-debut photos, fans can't help but admire her natural beauty.

Similar to Jennie, the BABYMONSTER member is also multilingual and can speak Korean, English and Chinese since she's five years old.

Lastly, her personality is impressive as per her friends. According to their anecdote about Ahyeon, the upcoming idol works hard both as a trainee and student, showing her perseverance and role model aspect.

Yang Hyun Suk, YG's executive producer, said:

"Ahyeon is a warrior with too many weapons. Every time I see her, I think, 'It's hard to have all that."

BABYMONSTER's YouTube Channel Surpasses 1.13 Million Subscribers

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is a new girl group released by YG about seven years after BLACKPINK, and most of them are teenagers.

On February 8, the agency launched its official BABYMONSTER YouTube channel and about three weeks since it was released, the channel already amassed 1.13 million subscribers and 160 million views of content. This is extremely a huge achievement given that the team has yet to debut.

With this, it is expected that the septet will change the global music market beyond the domestic music industry in 2023 as it has a wide range of vocal, dance, rap, and visual capabilities in a multinational composition, including three Koreans (Ahyeon, Haram, Rora), two Thai (Pharita, Chiquita), and two Japanese (Ruka, Asa).
