BLACKPINK Awarded With 20th New Guinness World Record — Surpassing Little Mix This Time

On March 11, YG Entertainment confirmed BLACKPINK to be "the most streamed artist on Spotify among girl groups worldwide" according to Guinness World Records.

The new record only proves BLACKPINK's dominance in the mainstream pop market considering that Spotify is the largest music streaming service worldwide with more than 400 million subscribers in 184 countries and that it is represented in the US Billboard's main chart tally.

According to Guiness, BLACKPINK surpasses the 8.4 billion streams held by the British girl group, Little Mix. All tracks that BLACKPINK released streamed a total of 8.88 billion times on Spotify as of March 3, this year.

In a series of billion-view marches, the group's fan base exceeded 38 million, and the title track from their second studio album, "BORN PINK," "Shut Down," enabled them to be the first K-pop group to top the Spotify global weekly chart.

Because of this, BLACKPINK holds a huge influence on the audience.

This was the 20th time in Blackpink's career that they broke a Guinness record. Before, as a group, they were 'the artist with the most subscribers on YouTube', 'the first female K-pop artist to top the album charts in the UK and the US', and 'the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours'.

The 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]', which mobilizes around 1.5 million people, is now being held out by BLACKPINK and is the biggest global tour of a K-pop girl group. They are heading to Asia to meet more fans after successfully completing 14 North American shows in 7 cities and 10 European tours in 7 cities last year.

Then, in April in the US at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and in July at the Hyde Park British Summertime Festival in the UK.
