NCT Dream Plagiarized TXT? Brand Under Fire Following Former's Concept Photos

While NCT Dream's new photos for a beauty brand were well-received by NCTzens, the fandom of boy group TXT, MOA, raised their brows against the brand and team, accusing the former of plagiarizing the latter's concept.

MOAs Accuse NCT Dream's BLANC DIVA's Concept Photos of Being Plagiarized From TXT's 'Thursday Child'

On online communities and Twitter, Moas (TXT fandom) called out NCT Dream and the cosmetic brand, BLANC DIVA for allegedly copying the quintet's concept photos for "Minisode 2: Thursday's Child."

Starting on April 3, the beauty company hinted at its latest collaboration with NCT Dream with a teaser photo showing the team's name. Since then, the members' photos were one by one unveiled on its official social media platforms in the order: of Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Chenle and Renjun.

When their photos were dropped, NCTzens (fandom) were truly delighted by the striking visuals of the members. NCT Dream especially showed their coolness by wearing black leather costumes.

However, the excitement and anticipation of fans didn't last long after TXT's fandom, Moa took to various platforms to accuse the brand and team of copying TXT's concept photos for "Minisode 2: Thursday's Child."

Looking at the two concept photos, both teams were wearing all-black leather outfits. What is noticeable was the uncanny similarities of their backgrounds; a white wall "vandalized" with related keywords about the groups using air-sprayed black paint.

If you don't know the members of the two teams, you'll think at first that they were under the same group!

While there are fans who just brushed it off as mere coincidence, some Moas were not happy with the resemblance of the concept photos and called out NCT Dream.

Some also took out their anger on the brand, the one behind the concept.

  • "It's really the same, but I think it's the company's fault."
  • "This is like copying your classmate's assignment and altering just a few things to make it look different."

In response, NCTzens defended NCT Dream and clarified that the members were only doing what the beauty brand wants to do as their clients, thus, the members shouldn't receive unnecessary hate.

Also, the fandom was confused why Moas are "gatekeeping" black leather outfits and backgrounds with smeared paints, emphasizing that there are older K-pop groups who did the same concept before TXT.
