Rumors have been circulating that the popular K-pop girl group STAYC may be participating in the upcoming show Queendom, scheduled for a May reveal. This rumor has led to a wave of confusion and disapproval among fans, who argue that the group should focus on their current group promotions instead.

Others dismissed the rumors as nonsense, arguing that the group's successful track record makes their participation in Queendom unnecessary.

STAYC's Current Success

STAYC has been enjoying significant success with their recent album releases, focusing on team promotions and solidifying their place in the competitive K-pop industry. Fans argue that the group's impressive accomplishments make their rumored appearance on Queendom puzzling. As one fan put it, "StayC  has already seized their place, why would they even wanna go there?"

Possible Special Stage Appearance

While many fans are opposed to the idea of STAYC participating in Queendom, some have suggested that the group may make an appearance for a special stage performance. They believe that it is unlikely for STAYC to join the competition, given their current success, but a special stage could be a possibility. One fan commented, "If StayC is really going there, it's probably for a special stage. But it still makes no sense."

Queendom's Format and Previous Winners

Queendom, a South Korean reality competition television show, first aired on Mnet in 2019. The show features six trending girl group acts competing in a comeback battle to determine the real number one. The winning act receives a special comeback show, broadcast on Mnet and M2. The first season's winner was Mamamoo, who held their comeback show in 2020 with their tenth mini-album, "Travel." The second season, titled Queendom 2, premiered in 2022, and WJSN took home the first-place title. Their comeback show is set to take place on July 5, 2022, coinciding with their first special single album, "Sequence."

STAYC's Journey to Success

The six-member group under High Up Entertainment debuted on November 12, 2020. STAYC first single was "Star To A Young Culture," which is an acronym that stands for the group's name. The meaning behind STAYC actually stems from the group's ambition to make an impact to the youth.

They have also made their mark in the international market, making their Japanese debut with their first single, "Poppy," in 2021. In 2023, STAYC continued to release successful singles, such as "Teddy Bear" and its Japanese version.

With STAYC's continued success and established place in the K-pop industry, their rumored participation in Queendom has left fans puzzled and divided. As the K-pop community awaits an official announcement, discussions surrounding the group's potential involvement in the competition show will likely continue.
