SM Entertainment to Debut New K-pop Boy Group Including Former NCT Sungchan & Shotaro

SM Entertainment will finally debut their next male idol group.

On July 12, Korean media news outlet Sports Chosun reported that SM Entertainment will be debuting their new boy group on the month of September.

According to sources, the upcoming K-pop boy group will comprise of seven members to its final lineup. This highly anticipated boy group will also include former NCT members Sungchan and Shotaro, who left their prior group to concentrate on this new act.

Apart from the two idols, they will also be joined by SM trainees Eunseok and Seunghan, who were both revealed to be associated with SM Rookies. The forthcoming septet will have three additional members, completing the seven-membered lineup.

Moreover, the group is presently filming the MV for their debut track in Los Angeles, California. SM Entertainment hasn't released an official statement regarding the report.

On May 24, SM Entertainment announced that Sungchan and Shotaro have left from NCT. In their statement, the agency furthered on the two idols' future plans and musical direction. SM Entertainment clarified that Shotaro and Sungchan's withdrawal was decided after delving into an in-depth conversation with them.

Additionally, SM Entertainment followed up that the two idols will be re-debuting into the agency's upcoming new boy group.

"Sungchan and Shotaro will now be closing their chapter with NCT, and will debut in a new boy group, schedule for debut this 2023," SM Entertainment stated. "Sungchan, Shotaro and NCT, will have our unwavering support."

In other news, SM Entertainment released the trailers for their SM Rookies on July 4, 2022. In some of the trailers, it included two of the new boy group's upcoming members revealed to be Eunseok and Seunghan.
