Dara Recalls How G-Dragon Made YG Confiscate Her Phone: 'He thought I was flirting with guys...'
Sandara revealed a hilarious anecdote about how her friend and BIGBANG leader G-Dragon spread a "rumor" within YG Entertainment that eventually led her phone to being taken away from her for months!
Sandara Reveals G-Dragon Spread 'Rumor' About Her, Leading Her Phone To be Confiscated
In a broadcast, 2NE1 Sandara Park revealed a never-before-told and interesting anecdote with BIGBANG G-Dragon that led to YG Entertainment taking her phone away.
On July 18, the female idol, who just made a comeback in the music scene with her self-titled debut album, appeared as a guest on JTBC's "Salty Pawn Shop," along with Chae Rina, Narsha, and ITZY Chaeryeong.
There, Sandara caught the attention of the cast and viewers as she brought the cellphone she used in 2009, which she considers one of her precious items.
"It's actually a phone that we used during the advertising period for a brand, and it's a precious phone that was taken away by the YG boss due to Kwon Jiyong (GD) and was, later on, returned to me."
As the members showed curiosity about what happened, Dara gladly narrated:
"This phone was taken away from me because of Kwon Jiyong. When I debuted, I was quite famous among male celebrities so I got a lot of calls from here and there, but I hid it from the boss.
Even if I'm receiving phone calls from guys, I would usually ignore it and didn't reply."
Then, a one celebrity felt frustrated because she kept ignoring him, so he decided to approach BIGBANG G-Dragon to ask about her.
"In fact, I would usually ignore the call, but a man (celebrity) complained to G-Dragon while having a drink that he couldn't reach me, saying, 'Dara noona doesn't contact me.'"
But G-Dragon, who heard this, actually felt good about it.
"He liked that I avoided the male celebrity because he thought of us as the first girl group from YG, and it's our pride. So he spread a 'rumor' among people in the company."
Unfortunately, while G-Dragon's intention was to share the story that would most likely make Dara's image better, it reached the YG boss as a rumor, and the female idol concluded:
"Eventually, it reached the boss, and he thought I was flirting with some guys, so he took away my phone. So, I had to live without a phone for a few months."

When Hong Jin Kyung, who was listening to this, commented:
"G-Dragon must have been sorry."
Sandara Park showed a close relationship with the male idol and responded:
"I don't think he knows he's sorry."
Despite the hilarious "mistake" G-Dragon made, Sandara Park attested to how the idol treated not only her but 2NE1 well as artists who originally debuted in the same company.

"Even though we are older than him, we are his junior group, so G-Dragon took care of us a lot because we are the first junior to debut after BIGBANG. From finding a stylist to giving advice on our outfit and stage, he showed much interest in us that he even paid attention to the behind stories about us."
