NewJeans Releases "Cool With You" MV featuring Global Stars Tony Leung, Jung Hoyeon

On July 20, NewJeans, who is set to release its second mini album, "Get Up" on the 21st dropped the MV of one of the triple title tracks, "Cool With You."

In particular, there are a total of 2 episodes released, side A and side B which showed the modern adaptation of the Greek mythology, "Pysche and Eros."

Directed by Director Shin Woo Suk who also worked with the group on their past hits, "Ditto" and "OMG," the MV was filmed in Barcelona and Spain, featuring world-renowned actor Tony Leung and "Squid Game" star Jung Hoyeon.

NewJeans 'Cool With You' MV Meaning, Interpretation Revealed

In particular, the music video which was divided into two parts showed Eros (played by Jung Hoyeon) abandoning her status as a god and choosing love. Meanwhile, NewJeans also made special appearances as guardian angels who look after its deity.

In the first part, it was hinted that Jung Hoyeon is the embodiment of Eros by connecting the hearts of various people. She also predicted that it would rain, bringing an umbrella in advance.

In a moment of love filled with joy, Jung Hoyeon actually feels dull. Then it is in front of the famous painting, "Eros and Psyche" that Jung Hoyeon finally wakes up to the feelings of love.

Jung, who connects people's hearts, falls in love at first sight with a human man in front of this painting.

However, despite her love for the mortal guy, a god is invisible to the human eye. In order to finally connect with the man that she loves, she abandoned her first identity as a god. In the rain, Jung Hoyeon smiled brightly because gods become human when they get rained on.

However, Hoyeon who appeared with an umbrella in the first scene, opens her eyes out of desire and curiosity and is soaked in the rain with nakedness. Here, we can get a glimpse of Jung Hoyeon's willingness to move toward a more subjective life than before, accepting the feelings of love with her whole body.

'Cool With You' SIDE A:

In the second part of the MV, Jung finally met the love of her life and they fell in love with each other. Both of them were happily in love until Tony Leung, an identity who is believed to be another god (god of mischief, devil, another eros) interferes with her love.

Tony made the man Jung Hoyeon loves make eye contact with another woman and fall in love with her instead.

In front of Jung Hoyeon, she witnessed the moment in front of her eyes and found another form of feeling such as pain and despair as a human.

Tony disappeared after depriving Eros of her love, and the latter would soon realizes her fate by watching the dances of the guardian angels and tries to return to God.
