Dongyo Entertainment Announces Kyoungyoon's Withdrawal from DKZ
On August 7, agency Dongyo Entertainment released an official statement announcing Kyoungyoon's withdrawal from DKZ.
The statement was released on their fan community website, which showed details for Kyoungyoon's activities in the future. Dongyo Entertainment acknowledged Kyoungyoon's temporary hiatus, which was announced on April 20.
The agency declared that Kyoungyoon's departure from DKZ was concluded after an in-depth discussion, stating that the idol will end his chapter with DKZ and proceed to his military enlistment this 2023.

"Hello. This is Dongyo Entertainment.
We would like to express our gratitude to fans who support DKZ and update you regarding the future plans of member Kyoungyoon.
In April, Kyoungyoon went through a temporary hiatus due to health reasons and prioritized getting enough treatment for recovery. Kyoungyoon's health condition improved, and afterwards, he engaged in an in-depth conversation with the company for a while, which shed light on the direction of his upcoming activities.
As a result of this conversation, it was decided that Kyoungyoon will conclude his group activities with DKZ and enlist in the military this year to fulfill his mandatory service.
Nevertheless, Kyoungyoon feels responsible for causing worries to fans and DKZ members. In order for Kyoungyoon to greet fans in good condition in the future, we will spare our unconditional support for him.

DKZ Kyoungyoon Writes to Dong-aris in Emotional Handwritten Letter
Dongyo Entertainment's official announcement was also followed up by a handwritten letter from Kyoungyoon himself, who addressed the situation and expressed his true feelings about his withdrawal from DKZ. He also assured fans of his return in the future.
Kyoungyoon wrote:
"I spent a lot of time reflecting for the past five months. I ended up on the conclusion of letting go Kyoungyoon of DKZ, since I thought that it would be the best option for all the people I genuinely care about.
I hope fans will understand my decision. I also wish everyone to be in good health and be happy, until the day I can greet you all again with a more stable health condition."
On March 13, Dispatch released an exclusive interview with Kyoungyoon, who confessed his involvement with the JMS Cult. The idol spoke up about his parents' connection with the cult and his experience growing up accompanied by the religion.
Kyoungyoon also addressed his unfamiliarity with the cult's controversial practices and his decision to leave after becoming aware of the issue's gravity.
