SM Entertainment Announces THIS RIIZE Member as Group's Visuals — K-Netz React

Although RIIZE is full of handsome members, SM Entertainment recently revealed the official visuals of the group!

How did K-pop fans react to it?

SM Introduces RIIZE Eunseok as Group's Official Visuals

On September 12, 13 SM Entertainment artists (Kangta, BoA, aespa, EXO, NCT, RIIZE, and more) officially entered Weverse, a fan community platform run by HYBE.

Initially, they were only connecting with PINK BLOODs (SM stans) through the KWANGYA and Bubble app, but following the agreement between HYBE and Kakao during the acquisition of SM in March, artists from SM Entertainment were required to transfer to the new fandom app.

On this day then, the artists shared "welcome message" video and their artistpedia profiles were also updated on Weverse.

Immediately, K-pop fans opened up about the "realness" of the description to most SM artists, which mentioned their strengths and contributions to their respective groups and the K-pop industry in general.

Among RIIZE members' descriptions, Eunseok particularly drew a buzz after he was introduced as the group's official visuals.

"RIIZE's visual. His good mid-to-low voice adds charm to the song. Unlike his gentle and calm appearance, he is a member who brings laughter to the team based on his random jokes."

K-Netizens, BRIIZE React to Eunseok Being RIIZE's Official Visuals

When this became known among the fandom and online users, one netizen expressed shock and wrote an article in a popular forum, saying:

"Oh, Eunseok is RIIZE's visuals."

Initially, some were not convinced and mentioned other members as "more worthy" to become the group's visuals.

  • "Shouldn't it be Sungchan of Seunghan?"
  • "I thought it would be Wonbin."
  • "Is this a joke? He's literally one of the ugl*est members."
  • "He's handsome, but I was expecting either Anton, Wonbin, Sungchan, or Seunghan."
  • "They picked him over Wonbin?"

The reason a visual member in a group is important as aside from their skills and talents, their visually pleasing looks help attract fans and generate more interest in the group. In this case, some fans just think that Eunseok doesn't fit the bill.

However, surprisingly, the majority of Koreans, BRIIZE and international fans think that the idol is actually deserving to become the group's visuals.

People especially emphasized his on-point prince-like look, tall height, and gentle facial features which is impossible not to attract more fans.

Koreans left rave reviews such as:

"Agree, he's an idol prince."

"As expected, he's the traditional flower boy and idol prince."

"As soon as I saw him, I thought that this member was the standard."

"While everyone was going crazy over Wonbin, here I am head over heels for Eunseok."

"This is exactly SM Entertainment's signature visuals."

"He has the deer-type look like YoonA, Minho."

"He's definitely from SM."

"Deserved."
