Renta confessed:

"Recently, I've been thinking about what to do in the future, and I've talked a lot about it with my family, members, and everyone in the company.

I thought a lot about it. After much discussion and consideration, I've finished my activities as TO1 Renta and decided to support each other for the future so that we can move forward in a better direction."

These words, laden with emotion and contemplation, reveal the depth of the inner struggle Renta has faced in making this monumental decision.

The 21-year-old artist, who ventured from Japan to Korea with a dream of becoming an idol, had indeed tasted the sweet fruits of success as part of TO1. He also shared a reflection of his journey.

“I came to Korea because I wanted to become an idol in Korea, and I was really happy to have various experiences and achieve my dream by debuting and working as TO1. I was so happy because it felt like it was my destiny to debut."

Renta's departure, coming after just over a year with TO1, leaves fans with a myriad of questions and mixed emotions.

But, ever the beacon of hope, Renta vowed, "I will work hard to come back in a better form someday," leaving a glimmer of anticipation for what the future may hold.

Renta’s departure marks a significant chapter in TO1's history. Renta, along with fellow members Daigo and Yeojeong, had joined the group in June 2022, filling the void left by the departure of Minsu, Jerome, and Woonggi.

With Renta's withdrawal, TO1 will continue to move forward, undeterred, as an eight-member powerhouse boy group.

This unexpected news came via a statement posted on their official fan cafe website on March 13, just days before the highly anticipated K-pop festival.

KCON 2023, a grand celebration of Korean pop culture, was set to captivate fans from March 18 to 19 (Saturday to Sunday) at Bangkok's prestigious Impact Arena, located within the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The statement issued by TO1's agency, WAKEONE, conveyed their regret over the unfortunate development, citing unforeseen circumstances as the reason for the abrupt cancellation.

"We regret to inform you that the scheduled appearance of TO1 at KCON 2023 Thailand has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances of TO1’s agency. We sincerely apologize to all fans of TO1 who had been waiting for this performance."

KCON 2023 Thailand had been eagerly awaited by fans, as it marked the festival's return to the country after a hiatus since 2019.

The lineup for that year's event included prominent acts such as (G)I-DLE, GOT7's BamBam and Youngjae, P1Harmony, iKON, and many more, promising an unforgettable weekend for K-pop enthusiasts.
