'Worst Album Cover Ever?': BTS Jungkook's '3D' Receives Mixed Reactions for THIS Reason

While many are excited for Jungkook's upcoming single "3D," some netizens were dissatisfied with the album's cover.

Here's what people are saying.

BTS Jungkook's '3D' Single Cover Receives Mixed Reactions for Design

On September 26, netizens expressed their dismay over the cover design of Jungkook's upcoming solo single "3D" (feat. Jack Harlow).

The original author also titled the post, "This album cover is being called the worst album cover ever in history." It was then followed up by an image from the said cover, which featured an aesthetic lining accompanied by shades of blue that showcased a minimalistic style.

The OP let out disbelief that the "3D" album cover wasn't successful in pulling off Y2K style since its design was too modern.

The post also laid out three cover designs from 2nd-gen K-pop albums which are BIGBANG's "Always," 1TYM's "Once N 4 All," and 2NE1's eponymous debut album. It exclaimed:

"This is an album released in 2023. It's not showing Y2K."

"Even the quality of albums released in the '00s was better."

Netizens then agreed with the OP, resembling the cover to MP3 backgrounds and Google presentation templates.

Meanwhile, ARMYs also joined in the forum and conveyed that the cover doesn't match Jungkook's global impact. Even though they're excited about the maknae's new music, they claimed it wouldn't hurt to receive a beautiful album cover design. Here's how people reacted:

  •  "It looks like the standard MP3 background during the 2000s."
  •  "Seriously, it freaking sucks. But what makes this even more upsetting is that it's Jungkook's album. I know it will be successful, but I still want to see a pretty cover."
  •  "Wow, where did the money go?"
  •  "Is this really made by the same company Min Hee Jin is housed under?"
  •  "We're talking about Bangtan here, please. Even small agencies aren't this deceitful."
  •  "It's like that Google Presentation template."
  •  "I read the post's title and thought these were going to be included."

Meanwhile, some fans expressed that it's normal for single releases to have "low-effort" covers. They also commented that as long as the song is good, the album cover won't matter much in the long run.

Fans defended the album's design and called out people who blew the whole thing out of proportion, while others dipped on BIGHIT MUSIC's creative team.

  •  "Singles can have low-effort covers. This is a worldwide expectation in pop music in general lol."
  •  "First of all, it's a single, not an album. As long as I like the song, I don't care about the design."
  •  "It's a single digital release and it doesn't even look that bad."
  •  "Antis are working extremely hard. Nothing new here."
  • "I mean it's a little lazy, but I've seen worse. I think BIGHIT needs to hire new people in their creative team."

Jungkook will officially drop "3D" on September 29, at 1 p.m. KST. Meanwhile, check out more of his concept photos below:
