ATEEZ Seonghwa to Temporarily Suspend Activities Due to Grandmother's Passing

On October 25, ATEEZ's agency KQ Entertainment officially announced that Seonghwa would be halting his upcoming activities with the group after his grandmother passed away.

This includes ATEEZ's schedules in the United States. However, on October 26, Seonghwa will still join the group for a performance at the "Immortal Songs in New York," after sending off the departed. Moreover, the agency asked for everyone's kind understanding.

Here's the full statement:

"Hello. This is KQ Entertainment.

It is with our deepest condolences to inform you of ATEEZ member Seonghwa, whose grandmother passed away on the 23rd of October.

We ask that you send your warm consolation and encouragement for Seonghwa, as we include the departed in our thoughts and prayers. Accordingly, we are here to inform you that Seonghwa will inevitably be unable to participate in ATEEZ's schedules in the United States."

However, Seonghwa will return to his activities with the group after taking part in the mourning process and funeral. He is set to appear in "Immortal Songs" live concert on October 26, in New York.

For the fans who have been eagerly waiting for ATEEZ's debut anniversary live broadcast, we kindly ask for your understanding. Once again, we send our deepest condolences and sympathies to Seonghwa, his family, and loved ones.

ATEEZ Seonghwa Sits Out 'KCON: TACT 2020' Due to Injury

In other news, Seonghwa has also skipped a separate event on June 23, 2020, which is the "KCON: TACT 2020."

According to an announcement released by KQ Entertainment, the idol suffered a mild sprain near his hip joint during a lesson in modern dance. Seonghwa was then taken to the medical team for examination and was advised to take a break for two weeks.

"Seonghwa experienced pain near his hip joint in a modern dance practice. Consequently, he was immediately taken to a clinic, and after a thorough examination, he was diagnosed with a mild sprain."

"Although a minor injury, Seonghwa was advised by the medical staff to lay low in his vigorous activities for two weeks, in order to prevent the wound from worsening."

KQ Entertainment also added that Seonghwa would only participate in the group's meet-and-greet segment of "KCON: TACT 2020 Summer," which was scheduled on June 26.

"Due to the circumstances, Seonghwa will only be appearing in the meet-and-greet of "KCON: TACT: 2020 Summer" on June 26, as performance-related activities would be difficult for him."
