ZB1 Jiwoong Publicly Apologizes for 'Voice Crack,' ZEROSEs Comfort Idol With Cheering Messages

While it was supposed to be a fun jam, ZB1 Jiwoong had to publicly apologize after netizens made fun of him and criticized his vocals. ZEROSEs then stepped up to cheer on the idol.

ZEROBASEONE Jiwoong's Voice Cracks While Singing, Apologizes for Making Mistake

ZEROBASEONE appeared on Day6 Young K's radio show, "Kiss the Radio," which aired on KBS Cool FM.

There, the rookie group performed their title track, "Crush," from their latest EP, "Melting Point," released on November 6. The performance was supposed to be a fun jam; thus, the members were somehow goofing around. Despite that, their vocals remained solid and stable.

Just then, Jiwoong, who was initially playing around with his co-members, suddenly made a cracked voice when his part came, leaving the members flustered. While Matthew comforted him a bit by tapping his back, Jiwoong showed professionalism as he came back to his senses and finished the song smoothly.

The other members seemed like they didn't see it as a big deal as well, while Taerae, Ricky and Gunwook were trying hard not to laugh and teasing their co-member.

Seeing it, fans consoled Jiwoong by treating it as a funny mistake and attested to him that it didn't change the fact that Jiwoong is a good vocalist.

In the past, even the most popular and talented K-pop singers experienced voice cracks, such as BTOB Changsub, who remains iconic for his mistakes back then.

However, the thing escalated when a Korean X user posted an edited video of ZB1's radio performance and called it a "disaster." Due to this, haters grabbed the opportunity to hate on the young idol and left malicious comments, calling him out for debuting in ZB1 and telling him to just give his line to other members.

While ZEROSEs (ZB1 fandom) tried to stop the "hate train," it unfortunately reached Jiwoong and the criticism led him to make a public apology.

With a serious tone, Jiwoong bowed his head, saying:

"First off, regarding what happened to our second album's first radio show with (Young K) sunbaenim, I made a voice crack, so, I also want to say that, to sunbaenim and to ZEROSE, my lovely ZEROSE, that I am sincerely sorry. That's what I wanted to say."

ZEROSE Trends #AngelicVoiceJiwoong to Cheer on Idol

Following the criticism and apology, ZEROSEs were frustrated that Jiwoong had to apologize for making a harmless mistake and for reading harsh comments from haters.

While some counterattacked the critics and defended Jiwoong from "egg accounts" (X account with no profile photos and are usually used to hate on celebrities), the majority of the fandom decided to use their energy and effort to make Jiwoong feel loved and boost his confidence again by making him realize how beautiful and healing his vocals are.

On the X platform, ZEROSEs used hashtags #AngelicVoiceJiwoong and #AllRounderJiwoong as they posted cheering messages and videos showing the idol's true singing skills.

Other K-pop fandoms also joined to comfort the male idol and reminded other fans that idols are also human so they don't need to be perfect all the time.
