10 Most Buzzworthy Rookie K-pop Groups in December 2023: NewJeans, RIIZE, MORE!

The last month of 2023 has finally come and is currently on a countdown until 2024 arrives. With many of our favorite K-pop artists trending with their activities, releases, and content, their popularity would only end up being measured by the Korean Business Research Institute.

This would also mark the organization's last brand reputation list regarding rookie idol groups for 2023. According to the list, the only artists who qualified were groups who debuted in 2022 or later on. The results were derived from November 7 to December 7.

1. NewJeans

Starting with NewJeans, the quintet entered the list for the eighth consecutive time with a brand reputation index of 4,120,010, alongside an 8.93 percent score rise.

Throughout 2023, NewJeans weren't only able to gain attention from their music, but also from their extra activities such as photoshoots, vlogs, TikTok content, and many more!

2. RIIZE

In the No. 2 spot, the place was occupied by SM Entertainment's newest K-pop boy group RIIZE, who saw a brand reputation index of 3,219,122.

3. BABYMONSTER

Another rising rookie group, YG Entertainment's fourth-gen representative BABYMONSTER claimed No. 3 with a brand reputation index of 2,051,726 leading them to complete the Top 3.

BABYMONSTER debuted on November 27, with their digital single "BATTER UP." With less than a month since their debut, the girl group has already broken records in K-pop. Baemon's placement on the list just proves their ongoing momentum.

4. ZEROBASEONE

Meanwhile, on No. 4, the place was secured by project boy group ZEROBASEONE, who received a brand reputation index of 1,794,334.

5. LE SSERAFIM

For the month of December, the rookie list's top five was rounded up by LE SSERAFIM, who garnered a brand reputation index of 1,774,686. The group has gained traction across social media for their appearances in awards shows and special events.

6. NMIXX

NMIXX landed in sixth place due to a brand reputation index of 655,806 for December. The rookie group also made buzz with their newest pre-release track "Soñar (Breaker)."
