When Lee's recent status was revealed, fans expressed pity for the former idol and trainee, who should have been enjoying fromis_9's success instead of the rigged members.

Lee Hae In vs fromis_9: K-Netz Feel Sorry for Idol

In the popular forum, Nate Pann, a post made by an internet user, titled, "The current situation of Lee Hae In, 'Idol School's' No. 1 ranking participant," has gone viral with over 235k views and 383 recommendations.

In the post, the OP compared the respective recent situations of Lee Hae In and fromis_9, who had their unfortunate connection after joining Mnet's survival audition show, "Idol School," in 2017.

Starting with the "real winner" Lee Hae In, an I.BI. member, who was said to be "robbed" of her place in fromis_9, she stopped pursuing her dream of becoming an idol and became an office worker under S2 Entertainment, an agency formed by former Cube founder Hong Seung Sung.

When S2's girl group KISS OF LIFE debuted, she became a creative director and has been managing the group since then.

On the flip side, fromis_9, whose majority of the members were selected through voting manipulation, has a continuously rising career, attending year-end awards ceremonies and is making comebacks.

Seeing this, fans show pity for Lee Hae In, who should have been the one shining on stage and not the one working behind the stage.

People also criticized fromis_9 for their "audacity" to continue as a group despite knowing that some members stole someone's spot.

K-Netizens React to Lee Hae In's Recent Status

As a response, netizens wished for Lee's happiness and success going forward the path she chose now, and continued to call out fromis_9 and the show.

• "Idol School' seemed to have really played with one person’s life. If they had no intention of making her debut, they should have let her go. They chose all the members from the beginning and cheated. How could you make the No. 1 become 11th place?"
