Pledis Entertainment Breaks Silence on TWS Logo Plagiarism Accusations — Details Inside

Pledis Entertainment, the powerhouse behind the highly anticipated rookie boy group TWS, has addressed and resolved the recent logo plagiarism controversy surrounding the group.

In a statement provided to media outlet Newsen, the agency revealed that they had successfully settled the allegations after a face-to-face meeting with the concerned company's representative.

"We met with the company representative in person and provided a detailed explanation of the logo creation process, and all misunderstandings were amicably resolved," stated the agency.

According to Pledis Entertainment, the TWS logo in question was independently designed by an outsourcing company collaborating with them, putting an end to the accusations of plagiarism that surfaced prior to the group's official debut.

Pre-Debut Turmoil

Before TWS, also known as the junior group to SEVENTEEN, could make their official debut, they found themselves entangled in a controversy regarding their logo.

TWM Strap, a custom watch strap brand, took to Instagram to accuse the group of copying and using a logo strikingly similar to their own, which holds trademark rights.

In response to the allegations, TWM Strap expressed frustration, stating, "This is a frustrating start to a new year...I will have to report this as trademark infringement through a lawyer tomorrow."

The brand emphasized the value and uniqueness of their logo, asserting their intention to pursue legal action.

Pledis Entertainment swiftly took action, clarifying that the logo was created independently and that all disputes had been resolved amicably.

The agency's response suggests that the matter has been put to rest, allowing TWS to proceed with their much-anticipated debut smoothly.

Legal Threats and Unanswered Queries

Prior to the resolution, TWM Strap had threatened legal action, expressing disappointment in Pledis Entertainment's handling of the situation.

The brand claimed that their attempts to contact Pledis officials via Instagram went unanswered and stressed the significance of their hand-drawn and trademarked logo.

As the controversy simmers down, it remains to be seen how TWS will navigate the aftermath of this pre-debut dispute. Meanwhile, the K-Netizens' reactions to the initial controversy have been a topic of interest, shedding light on the public's perspective on logo plagiarism within the K-pop industry.
