Unprofessional? Super Junior Kyuhyun Draws Flak After Recounting Reckless Drinking Incident

On January 9, Sung Si Kyung uploaded the latest episode of "We'll Meet" to his YouTube channel. For this episode, Super Junior member Kyuhyun appeared as a guest.

During his appearance, Kyuhyun recounted a story of how he missed a flight after drinking until 5:30 AM with Sung Si Kyung.

Kyuhyun was scheduled to fly to Japan for their concert. Though his flight was at 9 AM, Kyuhyun woke up on the bed wearing only jeans at 11 AM after blacking out after his drinking session. When he realized he had missed his flight, he quickly called his manager to ask what had happened.

There, he discovered that his manager had come to wake him up at 6 AM but found Kyuhyun asleep on his bed, completely naked. Due to how intensely he drank, Kyuhyun was so drunk that he could not be woken up. Not giving up, his manager did his best to dress Kyuhyun so he could somehow bring him to the airport.

However, despite his best efforts, it proved too difficult to do. He could not properly dress the unconscious Kyuhyun.

The manager had to tell the company that Kyuhyun would not be able to make the flight. Luckily for Kyuhyun, the concert was two days later, meaning he would just miss a day of rehearsals. He was able to get on a flight as soon as possible and successfully complete the concert.

After the story started making its rounds, internet users took to social media to express disgust over Kyuhyun's actions. The Super Junior member was accused of being unprofessional for not controlling his liquor intake before a business trip. They also expressed pity for the manager, who had to clean up after him.

"He should be sorry to his manager, who had to see him naked and tried to dress him."

Super Junior Kyuhyun Recent Activities

The official trailer for EMK Musical's musical "Ben-Hur," featuring Kyuhyun in the starring role of Judah Ben-Hur, with Park Eun Tae and Shin Sung Rok, was released on July 19, 2023. This announcement follows a nearly two-year hiatus since his last musical performance.
