February 17 and 18 were big days for K-pop fans, as several stars gathered to attend the 2023 Hanteo Music Awards. However, the award ceremony did not go as smoothly as many had hoped.

During the show, the artists were seated in a way where they could directly face their fans. The standing area was noticeably crowded, and many were pushing other attendees for a better spot to see their favorite K-pop idols. Some were getting dehydrated due to the lack of space.

aespa was seated at the front, giving them a clear view of the fans. Noticing the fans struggling, Karina was seen asking which fans needed water. As fans raised their hands, Karina quickly looked for a staff member and requested they bring water to the fans.

One of the biggest incidents was the constant pushing. As some fans got more and more agitated, the pushing became more violent. Karina was seen reacting passionately, begging fans to stop pushing. Giselle was also seen asking attendees to stop fighting.

Karina was also spotted asking the bodyguards to inform fans to take a step back. However, as the situation continued to get out of hand, Karina got up from her seat and gestured for people in the standing area to take some steps back.

Another standout moment was during aespa's speech after receiving an award. Karina took to the mic and stated that before they get to the speech proper, she hoped fans would listen to the bodyguards who are working hard to protect them and keep them safe.

She again asked people at the back to take one step back so that attendees would be more comfortable.

Many praised Karina for her selfless behavior, showing just how much she cared for the fans and the people attending. It was noted that other artists, especially ATEEZ, also took the time to make sure their fans were safe. These small acts earned the artists' major praise.
