MBLAQ rapper-vocalist Mir will exchange vows with his non-celebrity fiancée on Dec. 21, marking him the third member of the K-pop group to get married.

The private wedding ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM at a wedding venue in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, less than four days before Christmas. His fiancée is reportedly one year older than Mir. The wedding will come after the 34-year-old has dated his fiancée for an extended period, according to a report.

Born Bang Cheolyong, Mir has maintained a low profile throughout his personal life while channeling his creative energy into his family's wildly popular YouTube channel, "The Bangs," which he co-hosts with his sister, actress Go Eun-ah.

The channel, which also features family matriarch Bang Hyo-jin, has amassed over 700,000 subscribers by showcasing the hilarious daily dynamics and genuine warmth shared among the Bang family members. Reports indicate his relatives and the idol's entire family are looking forward to welcoming his bride into the circle.

Mir will now become the third MBLAQ member to get married. Fellow member G.O married actress Choi Ye-seul in September 2019, while former member Thunder wed ex-Gugudan member Mimi in May 2024.

MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality) emerged as one of K-pop's most promising acts after debuting on October 15, 2009, at their mentor Rain's Legend of Rainism concert in Seoul. Created under Rain's J. Tune Camp entertainment company, the five-member group—Seungho (leader), G.O (main vocalist), Mir (rapper), Lee Joon (vocalist), and Thunder (vocalist/rapper)—captured attention immediately with their polished performances and compelling discography.

The group's debut single album Just BLAQ, released October 14, 2009, topped various online and offline music charts in South Korea with its lead track "Oh Yeah." Their album earned them multiple Best Rookie and Newcomer awards.

MBLAQ achieved their commercial peak between 2010 and 2013, releasing a string of memorable hits. Their 2010 extended play Y earned them their first music chart win on M! Countdown on June 3, 2010. The group ultimately secured three music show wins throughout their career.

In December 2014, Lee Joon and Thunder announced their departure from the group after their contracts ended. The remaining trio—Seungho, G.O, and Mir—continued with their eighth mini-album Mirror, released on June 9, 2015, marking their first and final comeback as three members.

Following Mirror, MBLAQ entered an unofficial hiatus. G.O enlisted for military service in 2016, and the group never reconvened for official promotions. In February 2017, G.O revealed in candid statements that all three remaining members were no longer signed to J. Tune Camp.
