KATSEYE member Manon will temporarily step back from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing, the group and its labels confirmed this week.

In a statement shared on fan platform Weverse, HYBE and Geffen Records said that after "open and thoughtful conversations," they agreed that Manon would take a hiatus to prioritize her health.

The companies stressed that they "fully support this decision" and emphasized that the artist's well-being is their top concern. They also reassured fans that KATSEYE will continue with its previously scheduled promotions and appearances while she is away, according to allkpop.

The announcement, posted on February 20, explained that Manon will be "stepping back from group activities for a temporary period."

No specific timeline was given for her return, with the statement only saying that the members "look forward to being together again when the time is right." The message ended with thanks to fans, known as EYEKONs, for their "continued love, patience, and understanding."

Fans quickly reacted online, sending supportive messages and expressing hope that Manon will take the time she needs to recover. Some noted that she has faced intense pressure and scrutiny since debuting with the global girl group formed through the audition project "The Debut: Dream Academy," the Hindustan Times reported.

Many commenters said they were relieved that the agencies were allowing her to rest and focus on her health instead of pushing through schedules.

KATSEYE, which officially debuted in August 2024, has built a growing international following with releases such as "Touch," "Gnarly," and "Gabriela." In earlier interviews about the group's second EP, Manon described their music as a true reflection of who they are and spoke about paying attention to "finer details" in their work.

For now, the remaining members are expected to promote as a five-member team while keeping Manon involved in spirit and leaving the door open for her return once her condition improves, as per Variety.
