Playstation 4 Release Date Rumors: PS4 In Stores Within 120 Days, Countdown Confirms, Pitting Microsoft's Xbox One Behind Sony

Playstation 4 release date rumors are flaring after PS4.sx, a website featuring information about the release of Sony's next-generation console, released a countdown monitoring the release of the PS4 indicating 120 days left until it is released.

The website claims the release date for the Playstation 4 will be on November 13, the date that has been passed around by several different media outlets.

Sony has not officially announced a release date for the PS4.

But if Sony does release its console prior to Microsoft releasing the Xbox One, the retail giant might have an advantage over its main competitor.

Amazon has listed the Xbox One for a November 27 release date and two European retailers are claiming the PS4 will be launched on November 13, prompting rumors Sony will have a two-week advantage over Microsoft in the next-generation console war.

The online retail giant listed the Xbox One's release date and price for the day before Thanksgiving, according to VG 24/7, but many say the date doesn't make sense because it doesn't coincide with the release of one of the console's biggest games, "Call of Duty: Ghosts" and because new consoles usually aren't released on Wednesdays.

Microsoft has also not announced an official date for its console's release.

But retailers Media Markt and Bol.com say the PS4 will be launched on November 13, leaving 120 days for the rumored release of Sony's next-generation console.
