Psy-Girls' Generation Take Over the First Half of 2013

For the first half of 2013, Psy and Girls' Generation have taken over in on-offline sales. 

Yesterday, the Gaon Charts revealed that Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy" from January of this year had sold 285,140 copies and ranked number 1 for best selling for the first half of 2013. Jo Yong Pil came in second with his 19th album and sold 23,378 copies. EXO came in third place with their first album XOXO.

For digital album sales, Psy took over first place with his song, "Gentleman." On the comprehensive digital chart, that includes online streaming, download, BGM, mobile and more, had Psy at number 1.

Number 2 was duo Baechigi with their song, "Rain Shower." Third place went to SISTAR with "Gone Not around Any Longer."

For the first half of 2013, male idol groups seemed to be popular with electronic, dance, ballad and hip-hop styles being the most listened to. In the top 10 chart, all are male idols with the exception of Girls' Generation and Jo Yong Pil.
