U.S. Magazine Features Shinhwa as a Prime Example for Long-Run Idol Groups

Popular idol group Shinhwa was featured in the U.S. magazine, 'The Atlantic' as a prime example of a long-term idol group.

On July 23, the magazine released an article titled, 'What the Backstreet Boys Could Learn from K-Pop' and gained much attention online.

Backstreet Boys was a popular boy group that debuted in 1993 and has had 13 songs ranked high on the Billboard charts. This year marks their 20th anniversary since their debut.

The article states that although they are a long-run group, they are not able to follow the trends of the time and seem to be falling behind. This is when they bring up Shinhwa and about what sets them apart from the Backstreet Boys.

The Atlantic states that Shinhwa is a K-Pop group that celebrated their 15th anniversary since debut this year. All 6 members are in their 30's and is still going strong through various shows and showing their different personalities and enjoying life and growing older.

Even though Korea is known for their competitive culture in the work force and in education, Shinhwa proved to work hard to become a role model and always show positive energy to their young fans.

This group has stood out do their efforts being acknowledged in various fields aside from the music industry.

On the other hand, they will be holding their '2013 SHINHWA GRAND FINALE THE CLASSIC' in Seoul this August.
