Mackenzie Rosman of `7th Heaven’ in Maxim: Not Her First Heavenly Body Shot; Former Child Star Performs Public Rite of Passage

"7th Heaven" star Mackenzie Rosman, struck a few poses for Maxim and it looks like Reverend Camden's little girl is growing up. This isn't the first sexy shoot for Mackenzie Rosman of "7th Heaven." Maxim has long been the go-to magazine for child stars to break out of their stereotypes and put in a bid to be taken seriously in adult roles. The former "7th Heaven" actress Mackenzie Rosman can't be known as Ruthie forever.

The September issue of Maxim will see "7th Heaven"'s Mackenzie Rosman stripped to her bra and underwear and showing off a heavenly body.

Mackenzie Rosman of '7th Heaven' tweeted "I caved... Just wrapped a #Maxim photoshoot," Roseman, 23, tweeted.

This isn't the first racy shot that Mackenzie Rosman has posed for. Pictures of Rosman in her underwear kissing another girl were leaked online in 2008.

A lot of child stars break out of their stereotypes by posing in suggestive layouts. It is almost a rite of passage in Tinseltown. Danielle Fishel, Amanda Bynes, Jessica Biel and Hilary Duff all struck sexy poses. Cristina Aguilera did spreads for Maxim and Blender. Britney Spears caused a firestorm when she posed for a Rolling Stone cover.

Mackenzie Rosman's Maxim shoot isn't the first for a child actor from "7th Heaven" to peel for Maxim. Jessica Biel, who played Ruthie Camden's big sister, the rebellious daughter Mary Camden, on the show posed topless for Gear magazine in 2000 when she was only 17. Stephen Collins, who played the father on the show, called the layout "child pornography." "7th Heaven" producers sued the magazine. Jessica Biel's character had a downward spiral on the show, she balked at college, drank while babysitting and was finally written off the show entirely

Mackenzie Rosman said "It was a big deal. The magazine was banned on set, I think by orders of [executive producer] Aaron Spelling. I sneaked a peek at it, though. It was racy gossip amongst the women of '7th Heaven.'"

Rosman is next set to appear in Syfy's cable movie "Ghost Shark." It follows the trend set by "Sharknado" and will premiere on Aug. 22.
