'M! Countdown' Producers Anger Fans After Pulling EXO, f(x) From August 15 Episode

The producers of the South Korean music show "M! Countdown" rushed to explain their decision to pull EXO and f(x) from Thursday's episode, after the decision prompted outrage from fans of the two chart-topping groups.

"When the staff choose artists, a change of the line-up is very frequent," read a statement on Thursday from the producers of "M! Countdown."

"Singers are put on and cancellations can occur right up to the time of the performance. EXO and f(x) were one of those cases."

Yet the explanation was not enough for many of the 650 readers who left comments on the website allkpop on Thursday about the "M! Countdown" producers decision to pull EXO and f(x), both who are on the record label S.M. Entertainment

"Okay K-pop, you're losing my trust," wrote Sar14. "I'm sorry, but everything seems so controlled now. I feel like nothing is real anymore."

Reader Banana Bucket got straight to the point.

"Their explanation is just pure bullsh*t," he wrote.

Reader Sectiondotty argued that although they might be ranked higher on the charts right now, 2NE1's overall performance on many charts has been lackluster.

"Anybody who has been following the digital charts last week knows that EXO and even f(x) have been killing 2NE1 on the digital charts and [2NE1's new single] 'Do You Love Me' has been flopping," wrote Sectiondotty.

"Anybody who disputes [that] just doesn't know anything about the music charts in Korea."

"Do You Love Me" is currently number two on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

"Growl" by EXO is number four. "Rum Pum Pum" by f(x) is number five.

Reader Hyungshi thinks all the EXO and f(x) fans outraged at the "M! Countdown" producers need to calm down.

"What's up with these fans?" Hyungshi asked. "They're missing out on one performance and its like the end of the world for them?...just chill they'll appear through another music show."

K-pop fan Letting Me Go breaks it down why it matters so much to many EXO and f(x) fans.

"It is a big deal because the announcement of their lack of performance came out at the last minute," Letting Me Go wrote.

"Fans were waiting outside the studio for more than three hours to get in, then they find out they waited for nothing. Furthermore, people were expecting one of those groups to win today. The fact that one of them wasn't even nominated at the end of the show despite chart rankings has people left with questions."
