PlayStation 4 Release Date To Be Announced Tomorrow, August 20, During Sony’s Press Conference At Gamescom 2013

It seems that Sony is already set to unleash its tightly kept secret about its plans for PlayStation 4 release date.

Last week, Sony, through its European blog site posted details and information regarding its plan for the Gamescom 2013, and as expected, it will include announcement of details for the PlayStation 4 release date. Sony will hold a press conference on August 20, which is a night before the official commencement of Gamescom 2013.

The post from the blog site said that the press conference will begin "at 18:00 BST on 20 August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita." This hint from Sony may suggest that tech fans and enthusiasts may already know the PlayStation 4 release date as soon as tomorrow.

Sony press conference for Gamescom 2013 will have a live streaming so for those who cannot attend, you will also be updated with news regarding the specific PlayStation 4 release date by watching the live stream of the event from official PlayStation site or other huge tech news website.

Meanwhile, there were earlier rumors suggesting that the PlayStation 4 release date will be on October 21, as posted by a mod-verified Neogaf user working from a major retail store. But as usual, the report still remains as a big rumor as Sony has not been making any comments about it.

PlayStation 4 was initially announced by Sony during a press conference held on Feb 2013. The actual unveiling of the video game happened during the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2013 that happened on June.

Sony PlayStation 4 became available for pre-orders since its unveiling and according to reports, some retailers like Amazon and Toys R Us have already ended the pre-orders as the allocated units for the launch date have already sold out.

What is only certain for now is that Sony has already revealed that the PlayStation 4 release date will be set in time for the holiday and shopping season. Meanwhile, its rival product, Microsoft Xbox One, is expected to arrive at some point in November.
