Kara’s Han Seungyeon Apologizes for Goo Hara & Kang Jiyoung’s Tears on 'Radio Star'

Kara's Han Seungyeon apologized for Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung's tearful appearance on the latest episode of MBC's "Radio Star." Their dramatic appearance on the show was followed by an apology from Han Seungyeon.

On September 5, Han Seungyeon wrote on her own Twitter, "First off, I want to apologize to all the people we have inconvenienced by our guest appearance on 'Radio Star.' We will reflect on our unprofessional attitude in the face of individual circumstances, and will work to change that. We are gravely sorry and thankful towards the 'Radio Star' MCs, cast members, staff, and Park Jin Young who supported us during and after the shooting."

She continued, "All day long I've been contemplating how I should express these things to you, and am just now uploading it for you to see."

MC Yoon Jong Shin explained his position after seeing Kara members getting criticized for their tears. On his Facebook he wrote, "I believe Kara's tears were very honest. As always, the hosts were persistent with our questions, and we badgered the guests to answer them. If anyone should be criticized, it should be the MCs, not Kara. Not everyone is capable of answering our questions wittily with a smile. I'm sure they must have gone through some hard times. It's my fault for not letting it go. I'm sorry."

Even "Radio Star's" main writer, Kim Tae Hee, sought out to protect the Kara members from this controversy. She uploaded onto her Twitter on September 6, "Kara is a very polite and kind group compared to other girl groups. They're idols that do well on entertainment programs, too. Although they briefly had an emotional moment on 'Radio Star,' they let go and happily finished filming the rest of the show with smiles on their faces. I'm just really thankful for their hard work! Don't badmouth them! They're really nice and pretty girls."

Kara's actions on the show are a little hard to swallow when you just see the broadcast, but it could very well be the case that their actual actions in the "real situation" were different. There's talk as to whether the video crew could have been more mindful of Kara when they were editing the clips. That might be true. But whatever the case, Kara definitely deserves to be commended for their honesty and for having the bravery to step up and apologize for their mistakes.
